Buckinghamshire Marquee Wedding
Charlotte & Joe's wedding took place on the first weekend of September 2023, and we were subjected to a rather unexpected heatwave for their Buckinghamshire marquee wedding. With temperatures soaring and then hovering around 32C, with a south-facing marquee, we knew that we were in for an interesting day!
Thankfully, the church in Quainton, Buckinghamshire, provided blissful coolness with its thick stone walls, so that all guests were able to enjoy the service fully, before heading over to Creslow Manor, where the reception marquee, and plenty of refreshing glasses of Pimms and cold beers, were waiting. Wedding guests spilled out under the shade of the big trees on the manor lawn, while Charlotte & Joe and their wedding parties had group photos expertly captured by Steph Kieley by the monkey puzzle right outside the Manor House.
Creslow Manor in Buckinghamshire is a privately owned house and farm, with a semi-permanent marquee in place for couples to hire for their wedding day. Perfectly located close to Quainton church - Charlotte's childhood church - the setting was ideal as it offered both photo opportunities and flexibility, while being one of the few places around that could host their 120 guests.
But, I can't talk about Charlotte's wedding without mentioning her flowers, which were created by her gorgeous sister Emma - also known as Signature Flowers - and her amazing team of florists. Emma put together a delicious palette of her signature orange, with hints of blue, and kept everything in keeping with Charlotte's wish for 'rustic, country wedding vibes'. Signature Flowers is now based in the beautiful Clayton Estate in Buckinghamshire, with a large portion of their plants and cut flowers coming directly from Charlotte & Emma's parents' nursery in Quainton.
While the generous flower displays were expected with flowers essentially running through their blood, a slightly less expected wedding detail was the authentic steam engine displayed next to the marquee. Steam engines happen to be Joe's passion and livelihood, so it was rather apt having one named 'Emma' transported in for the occasion!
The morning of the wedding was spent getting ready at North End Nurseries, where I had a lovely moment seeing one of my past brides, Lucy Arthurs, assisting the fabulous Lucy Beesley. It's always the best moments when I get to reconnect with my couples afterwards, wherever and how ever that happens!
Bentley, Charlotte & Joe's labrador, joined them after the church for some gorgeous photos, and there was a hilarious interlude with the nearest wedding party along the long driveway after dinner and speeches, before everyone piled onto the dance floor post cake cut.
Such a fabulous and heartwarming day - thank you so much for letting me look after you Charlotte & Joe, and your gorgeous Buckinghamshire marquee wedding!
